In Bangkok, Chao Phraya River is the main waterway which link to its areas and nearby provinces.

There are many kinds of boat services available in Bangkok and also transport to other provinces.


 
  RIVER FERRY   EXPRESS BOAT "CHAO PHRAYA"  
         
  Bangkok is divided by the river into 2 banks... “Krung Thep” and “Thonburi”. Some nice hotels are at the Thonburi bank. To cross the Chao Phraya River... visitors can use the river ferry at any convenient piers.

Fee: about 1-2 baht. Up to the distance.

  Chao Phrya Express Boat transports people along the Chao Phraya River, from Wat Ratchasingkhon pier (near Krung Thep bridge) to Nonthaburi (town hall). In rush hours, the last pier is just at Pak Kred.

Ratchasingkhon (Wat Phraya Krai) – Wat Worajanyawat - Sathorn – Oriental Hotel – Wat Muang Khae – Si Phaya – Harbour Department – Ratchawongse – Buddha Yodfa Bridge – Rachini – Tien – Chang – Phrannok – Bangkok Noi Railway Station – Phra Arthit – Wisut Kasat – Yok Yo Restaurant – Thewet – Sang Hi Bridge – Phayap – Wat Kaeo Fa Chula Muni – Bang Pho – Wat Soi Thong – Rama 7 Bridge – Khema Phirataram – Wat Tuek – Wat Tha Khian – Nonthaburi

Service time: 6 am.- 6.30 pm. daily

  EXPRESS BOAT "LAEM THONG"   LONG-TAILED BOAT  
         
  Laem Thong Express Boat transports people along the Chao Phraya River, from Wat Ratchasingkhon pier (near Krung Thep bridge) to Pak Kred (near Nonthaburi). The boat has a green flag as a symbol. At Pak Kred pier, there are ferries crossing the river to Ko Kred island.

Fee: 15 Baht.

  This kind of Thai watery vehicle is interesting. While it is fastly moving, its long tail is splashing water delightly. Long-tailed boats service daily on many canals and rivers, and they can be hired for a trip by tourists.

Express long-tailed boat is a faster transportation for Bangkokians, especially in the rush hours. It is provided on main canals that pass the business areas, such as Saen Saeb canal, Lad Phrao canal, Bangkok Noi canal, and so on.
