BURI RAM
 
Buri Ram is meaning to "The City of Pleasantness". It is one of the largest and most populated provinces in I-san (the Northeast) that has many ancient stone castles of Dvaravati Period, attractive for both inhabitants and visitors.
 
The settlement of prehistoric humans are found here and important evidences of Khom cultural materials and arts are scattering around the province. There are more than 60 stone castles, brick castles and many of ancient kilns that are used for burning Khmer wares in the 9th -12th Century.

In Ayuthaya period, Buriram was a dependency of Nakhon Ratchasima. The town became a province in 1933 of Rattanakosin period. It has a number of leading attractions, for example, Prasat Hin Phanom Rung, the Buddha image atop Mount Khao Kradong, etc.
