Yala is the southern most province of Thailand, bordering on the Malaysia at Amphoe Betong. It is an interesting city of history and cultures which have the infulence of Thai, Chinese, and Islam.

Yala comes from dialect (local word) "Yalo", meaning to fish net. The old site of Yala town is at Ban Yalo, a low-land where fish net-shaped mountian is a located. This big city has graceful looking township with a splendid city plan layout. Its large-sized roads, a grand government offices center.
