Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand, is known for its refreshing cool climate, its pristine natural beauty and colourful culture and traditions. Its mountainous slopes and valleys are home to several ethnic groups and tribal residents who have continued to maintain their distinctive cultural identity and indigenous way of life.

• A Scene In The Life: The Akha Hilltribe People Light-and-Sound Show. The 30-minute show depicts the culture and way of life of the Akha hilltribe people and is performed by Akha hilltribe residents from nearby Saen Suk village. The buildings which are part of the set have also been constructed by the Akha people.
