Highlight will be in Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Tak
For nearly a century, this exquisite tradition of floating candle-lit garlands has gladdened the hearts of Thais.

Experience the ancient tradition of the Loy Krathong Festival at Sukhothai or travel north to Chiang Mai.

There, the tradition is kept and the dark sky sparkles with light lanterns, during the Yi Peng Fair.

It is believed that the Loi Krathong Festival originated in Sukhothai, the first Thai capital. It is thus appropriate that this captivating event is held on the full-moon night of the twelfth lunar month amid the breathtaking ruins of this glorious ancient city.

Activities include the floating of krathong, a fireworks display, cultural performances and an amazing light and sound show.
