Banana Press

Banana Press : Mai Tub
For cooking 'kluay tub' (flatten banana in syrup), a kind of Thai dessert, this utensil is used for flatting banana before charcoal-grilled and dip in syrup. Two layers of wood can be hinged together like a door. Flatting banana can makes it absorb syrup well.
   
Cutting Board

Thai kitchen's cutting board is usually made of tamarind wood, because of its hardness and denseness. Tamarind wood can not absorbs liquids well. It can be cleaned either by washing or scraping with knife.
 
Grater

Grater : Gratai Khood Maphrao
Thai old-fashioned grater is a wood-carved seat, with sharp ironed-teeth on its end for grating by rotating half of a coconut around. The seats are elaborately carved into shapes of human and animals, particularly rabbits (perhaps because of protruding teeth).
 
Slicer

Slicer : meed pok
It is a person hand size implement with a sharp blade. It is used for slicing, stripping or peeling fruits and vegetables thinly. Thais always use it to make some strips of green papaya for spicy salads.
